The first glimpse at Emerald Fennell‘s Saltburn has arrived. The film is described as a dark story about luxury and desire. Struggling to fit in at Oxford University, Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) is drawn to the attractive and aristocratic Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), who invites him to his eccentric family’s estate for a summer to remember. What is the Plot of Saltburn?
The film, written by Fennell, is set in the mid-2000s and shot across the United Kingdom. It follows student Oliver Quick (Keoghan), who is struggling to find his place at Oxford University and finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Elordi), who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family s sprawling estate, for an unforgettable summer.
Saltburn also features Rosemund Pike, Richard E. Grantas Sir James, Alison Oliveras Venetia, Archie Madekweas Farleigh, Carey Mulligan, Paul Rhysas Duncan, Lolly Adefopeas Lady Daphne, Ewan Mitchell, and Reece Shearsmith.
Emerald Fennell wrote and directed the picture, which she also produced with Josey McNamara, Tom Ackerley, and Barbie actress Margot Robbie, whose film grossed $1 billion worldwide.
Fennell stated, “I’m honored that our film is able to open this year’s BFI London Film Festival.” It is an event that inspired me greatly as a child, one that I eagerly followed from my bedroom on the opposite side of London.He went on to say, “It feels extra-special that Saltburn, this very British tale of excess, can make its international debut at the wonderful BFI.”
Saltburn will have its world premiere on October 4, 2023, at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London, with simultaneous screenings across the United Kingdom and an expected North American World Premiere.
When will Saltburn be released in theaters?
Saltburn will have a limited theatrical release on November 24, 2023, before going wide on December 1, 2023, thanks to Amazon Studios and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
