Selena Gomez and Jordan Peele to Develop “Coyotes” Series Adaptation for Prime Video

Exclusive:Selena GomezandJordan Peeleare reportedly teaming up to develop a thrilling series adaptation ofSean Lewisgraphic novelCoyotesforPrime Video.

According toFilm Updates, Gomez will serve as an executive producer on the project, while Peele will be involved through his production company, Monkeypaw Productions. The series is said to be in the early stages of development.

Coyotes, originally published byImage Comicsand illustrated byCaitlin Yarsky, is a gripping story described as a mix ofKill BillandThe Last of Us. Set in the City of Lost Girls, a border town in the desert, the story revolves around Officer Frank Coffey, who becomes determined to unravel the mystery surrounding a series of brutal killings. His path crosses with that of a young girl named Red, armed with a katana blade and on a mission to eliminate the werewolves responsible for terrorizing the border and preying on women.

Gomez will next be seen in the third season of the Hulu seriesOnly Murders in the Buildingand is currently filming Jacques Audiard s movieEmilia Perez. Also, Gomez is involved as a producer in a reboot of the 1984 romantic comedy 16 Candles and a remake of the 1988 classicWorking Girl.

Peele released his third feature film,Nope, in 2022. He is now working on his fourth feature, scheduled for release on December 25, 2024. Peele is also involved as a producer in an upcoming remake of The People Under the Stairs and a supernatural feature called Sinkhole, starring Issa Rae.
