One of the greatest failures of the year, Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One, brought in $172 million at the end of its domestic run. With $393 million in overseas revenue, it made $566 million in total against a $220 million budget worldwide.
Due to films like Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Paramount Pictures experienced financial losses in 2023. Despite being a box office failure, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts broke even and is still the lowest-grossing movie in the series. Like 2022, the year was difficult for Paramount. Some projects did well, nevertheless, such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and Scream VI.
The story of the movie centers on Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and the IMF team as they search for a terrible new weapon that, in the wrong hands, may endanger all of humanity. A deadly race around the world starts, with control over the future and the fate of the entire planet at risk. Ethan is forced to realize that nothing, not even the lives of the people he loves about most, can mean more than the mission when faced with an enigmatic, all-powerful enemy.
